The Dreamcatcher Print Series are an ongoing work and are representative of a contemplative and intuitive investigation of both the conscious memory and the subconscious. With no fixed composition medium or ground they become both intuitive and therapeutic in their making. On making these paintings “public” I have imposed the stricture of the square whilst flattening the images through digital printing. This is an intentional process exploring the issues of accessibility, commodity and value whilst mediating the presence of paintbrush and the act of painting. The digital image removes the layers turning the Dreamcatchers in to something that can be read as purely decorative, whilst their making is a physical and metaphysical process between memory, perception and thought.
