  • William’s story…..

William was diagnosed age 7 with an Ependymoma brain tumour.. He put up a good fight…..he had 2 surgeries, proton therapy in Oklahoma, stereotactic radiotherapy, numerous rounds of chemotherapy, eye surgery, tracheostomy, feeding tube, Botox to help his legs…….the list is endless.

We consulted Professor Grundy at the University of Nottingham  numerous times over the years, to discuss the possibility of clinical trials for William to participate in.    William was desperate to find a way forward with his treatment and knew that taking part in a trial could possibly help him and others too. Unfortunately this never happened.

When William passed away  on Monday 8 August 2022 at the age of 18, his brain was donated that day to Professor Grundy for research.  So at last William was helping others by the research that could be carried out on his b****y tumours.

We now want to raise funds to support Professor Grundy’s research into Ependymoma.

    Thank you so much.
